Care

Cleaning:

Best Method, Longest Life of Garment: To get the most wear out of your 100% wool Norskwear Norwegian Sweater, handwash your sweater. To do this fill a sink or bowl with warm water, add mild shampoo (baby shampoo works best). Slowly drop the sweater into the water, gently swirl the sweater in the water. If you agitate the garment vigorously it will have a similar effect as if it was put in a washing machine, and the garment may shrink. Empty the water from the sink, fill the sink again with warm water. This is to rinse the soap from the garment. You may have to rinse twice. Roll the sweater like you would a towel, squeezing as much water out as you can. Then place the sweater on a flat surface on top of a towel.

Usual Method, Longer Life of Garment:Sweaters may be washed in newer front loading washing machines that have a handwash or delicate cycle using cold water. After being washed, take your sweater from the washing machine lay it on a towel on a flat surface. If you have a front loading dryer with a shelf function, you can dry your sweater using the cold air cycle, and placing the sweater on the shelf.

Usual Method, Average Life of Garment:Your sweater can also be drycleaned. If you decide to this, it is helpful to know if the drycleaner is experienced in dealing with woolen garments.

Storage:When not wearing your sweater, take care not to hang it. Sweaters hung on a hanger may stretch in length due to the weight of the wool. It is best to simply fold the sweater when not in use.

If you live in an area where you have experienced loss of wool due to moths, storing the sweater in a cedar chest, or in a shelf with mothballs or pieces of cedar, will help to prevent this.

Pilling:If you’re sweater happens to pill over time. You can use an electric sweater shaver to remove this pills. Enhancing the beauty of your garment.

Thank you again, for your Norskwear Purchase. May it bring you many years of warmth.
From everyone at the Norskwear family.
